Arguably the most famous Italian wine region, not only because it is the darling of English literature and Hollywood movies but also because of its fabled rolling vineyards, historic stone villages…and spectacular wines.

The soils here are not particularly fertile, so the vines yield modestly, hence winemakers focus more on quality than quantity. The famous red grape Sangiovese rules supreme, creating the famous Chianti wines. In the whites, Trebbiano boasts many fans.
