Freycinet Coast
Australia’s most southern state, the island of Tasmania is home to the pristine coastlines including the Freycinet Coast.
Thriving in this cool climate with moderating sea influences are the Burgundian varieties Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from which some of the New World’s finest sparkling and still wines are made.
Mild summers, chilly winters, sheltered slopes and significant elevations, create conditions similar to those of central Europe, so it’s no surprise that the low-volume, high-quality wines of the region also include Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Gris.
