Stella Bella Shiraz 2023

Spicey and medium bodied, our Shiraz is a hallmark of the Margaret River region. Elegant, aromatic fruit and delicate spice, Stella Bella Shiraz is sophisticated, stylish and absolutely… moreish.

An epic Southern Margaret River vintage, a cool October and November gave way to a warm summer, accelerating ripening across all varieties. March brought a refreshing coolness, allowing that perfect hang-time for all red varieties, accentuating the delicate flavours of the harvest. Shiraz was a stand out with beautifully ripened tannins, vivid colour and exceptional spice.
Fruit for this wine is selected and handpicked almost exclusively from our Forest Grove vineyard. Bunches with good lignification of bunch stems (or rachis) are selected for use in whole bunch (20%) fermentation. Fermentation is fast and hot to ensure fruit is off skins in close to 8 days. Pressed at close to zero Baume and transferred to barrel for malolactic fermentation and maturation. French oak Barriques (10% new) support the fruit through maturation for 8 months.
