Small Victories Barossa Valley Grenache Mataro 2023

This wine is vibrant, juicy, and savory, with aromas of savory herbs and subtle hints of musk. On the palate, it offers a delicious mix of red fruits, complemented by gamey undertones, vibrant spice, and a touch of cracked pepper. These flavors are supported by silky tannins, leading to a lively and balanced finish.

The old-vine Grenache was hand harvested, with a small portion of whole bunches included, and fermented in a concrete tulip to enhance flavor extraction. A slow, steady fermentation process built the tannin profile. The Mataro was fermented in cement open fermenters. Both parcels were rested in seasoned French oak for malolactic fermentation and additional time on lees, allowing for further complexity and texture. The final blend also includes a touch of Carignan and Shiraz, contributing to the wine's depth and balance.
