This wine is fresh yet savory, with a delicious character. The nose offers vibrant aromas of red cherries, complemented by subtle notes of orange rind. On the palate, the fruit shines brightly, followed by a creamy, savory edge from time on lees. The tight, typical Sangiovese tannin profile adds a refreshing crispness to the finish, which is beautifully balanced with a lingering savory note.

The wine underwent open fermentation over 8 days with very gentle cap management. Jules’s youngest son, Louis, contributed to the process with his fair share of pump overs. Malolactic fermentation took place in a concrete ‘tulip,’ and extended time on lees helped build mid-palate weight, balancing the natural tannin and acidity of Sangiovese. The result is a wine with a well-rounded structure and depth.
