Rockcliffe Third Reef Shiraz 2018

The wine opens with intense aromas of perfumed bramble fruits and savory spices, complemented by a hint of cashew nuttiness that adds complexity. On the palate, there is a dense concentration of plum and dark berry flavors, with ripe, juicy fruit melding beautifully with long, fine tannins. The finish lingers with a touch of spice, creating a rich and well-rounded experience.

The Shiraz fruit was machine picked, then destemmed and crushed into small open fermenters where it was inoculated for fermentation. The fermenters were hand plunged with aeration twice a day, and the temperature was held around 25°C, allowing for a long fermentation maceration. After fermentation, the wine was transferred to barrel for malolactic fermentation, facilitating the soft integration of grape and oak tannins. The wine was then fined and bottled.
