Rockcliffe Third Reef Pinot Noir 2020

The wine opens with lifted aromas of violets and spice, accented by subtle plum notes. On the palate, it is full and textured, offering rich flavors of cherry and dark berries. Silky, fine tannins provide a smooth structure, perfectly integrated to create a long and elegant finish. The wine is balanced and refined, showcasing both complexity and harmony.

The fruit was machine picked, then destemmed and crushed into small open fermenters where it was inoculated for fermentation. The fermenters were pumped over with aeration twice a day, and the temperature was maintained around 25°C, followed by a long post-fermentation maceration. After fermentation, the wine was transferred to barrel for malolactic fermentation, which helped integrate the grape and oak tannins. The wine was fined with egg whites and bottled after 10 months of maturation.
