Rockcliffe Peaceful Bay Shiraz 2022

This Shiraz presents a deep maroon color with subtle purple hints. The nose is vibrant, offering spicy blackcurrant aromas, complemented by raspberries and a lifted note of cracked pepper. On the palate, fresh, plumy fruit fills the mid-palate, beautifully supported by fine-grained, powdery tannins. These flavors are seamlessly interwoven with the subtle influence of French oak, creating a well-structured wine with great length and full, harmonious flavor.

The Shiraz was machine harvested, destemmed, and chilled into small closed fermenters. After a 5-day cold maceration, the fruit was warmed and inoculated with a Shiraz-specific yeast. Fermentation took place with twice-daily pump overs for aeration, and the temperature was maintained around 25°C. After fermentation, the wine was transferred to barrel for malolactic fermentation, ensuring a soft integration of grape and oak tannins. The wine was then fined and bottled.
