Pelissero Augenta Dolcetto d'Alba DOC 2022

The colour is a deep ruby red, vibrant and bright, with nuanced structure that is both inviting and persuasive. On the nose, the impressions are pleasant, with delicate yet wide and complex sensations ranging from vinous to fruity. The wine reveals an austere character balanced by gentle and persuasive notes. On the palate, the tasting profile moves from saltiness to softer sensations of sweet tannins, highlighting a balanced structure and a long, persistent finish.

Grown predominantly on calcareous soils, the grape imparts notable complexity to the wine. This requires greater attention and an atypical winemaking approach for Dolcetto. Maceration lasts 10 to 12 days in temperature-controlled casks, followed by cold decantation in stainless steel. The wine then undergoes ageing for approximately 6 to 7 months in 50 hL oak barrels to harmonise the firm tannins contributed by the soil. Before release, the wine is further aged in bottle for an additional two months.
