Bertani Valpolicella Ripasso DOC 2022

This wine presents an intense purple-red color with vibrant purplish highlights. The nose is clean and aromatic, offering an intense bouquet of ripe red fruits, complemented by hints of dark fruits like bramble, blackcurrant, and ripe cherry. On the palate, it is velvety and well-balanced, with a full, round body that retains a lively, intense grip. The finish is sapid and lingering, leaving a lasting impression of fresh, rich fruit flavors.

This wine is crafted from grapes grown in the calcareous-marl and volcanic soils of Valpantena and Valpolicella Classica. After hand harvesting in late September, the first fermentation occurs in shallow stainless steel tanks for two weeks. In March, the wine undergoes a second fermentation ("Ripasso") on Amarone skins, enriching its flavor. It is then aged for 9 months in 750-litre Veronese-Bertani French oak barrels, adding complexity and smoothness before bottling.
